What Are Airdrops

Airdrops are free token distributions to eligible wallets. Learn how airdrops work on DibDex, including eligibility, unlock periods, and claim deadlines.

✈️ Overview

An airdrop is a free distribution of tokens to a set of eligible wallet addresses. Token creators configure airdrops as part of their token ecosystem — a percentage of the total token supply is reserved for airdrop distribution, and specific wallet addresses are added as recipients.

On DibDex, airdrops are built into the token's smart contracts from the start. They are not afterthoughts — creators allocate airdrop supply during token creation, and the distribution is enforced on-chain. This is a key differentiator from platforms where airdrop promises rely on the creator's goodwill. On DibDex, the allocation is locked in the contract at deployment, so recipients can verify their eligibility and the total airdrop supply before the token even launches.

🔒 Airdrop allocations are locked on-chain at deployment — no trust required. Recipients can verify their eligibility before the token even launches.

🔑 Key Concepts

✅ Eligibility

A wallet is eligible for an airdrop if the token creator has added it to the airdrop's recipient list. Eligibility is determined by the creator, not by the platform. Creators can add recipients before or during the preorder period.

🔓 Unlock Period

The unlock period is the number of days after TGE before airdrop claims become available. A token might have:

  • Immediate unlock (0 days) — Claims open as soon as TGE completes
  • Delayed unlock (e.g., 30 days) — Claims are locked for a period after TGE, preventing immediate selling pressure

💡 The unlock period is set by the creator during token creation and enforced by the smart contract — it cannot be changed after deployment.

⏰ Claim Deadline

The claim deadline is the total number of days recipients have to claim their airdrop tokens after TGE. After the deadline passes, unclaimed tokens may no longer be available.

  • No deadline — Recipients can claim at any time (tokens never expire)
  • Fixed deadline (e.g., 90 days) — Recipients must claim within this window or forfeit their tokens

⚠️ If a claim deadline is set, make sure to claim before it expires — unclaimed tokens are forfeited after the deadline.

📊 Airdrop Supply

The airdrop allocation is a percentage of the total token supply, configured during token creation (e.g., 5% of total supply). This amount is divided among all recipients based on the creator's distribution plan.

🔄 Airdrop Lifecycle

  1. Configuration — Creator sets airdrop allocation percentage during token creation
  2. Recipient Addition — Creator adds wallet addresses to the recipient list (before or during preorder)
  3. TGE — Token Generation Event occurs, minting the tokens
  4. Unlock — After the unlock period (if any), claims become available
  5. Claiming — Eligible recipients claim their tokens to their wallet
  6. Deadline — If a deadline is set, unclaimed tokens expire after the specified period

📑 Page Tabs

The Airdrops page has three tabs:

  1. All Airdrops — Browse and discover all airdrops across the platform
  2. Your Claims — View airdrops you are eligible for and claim tokens
  3. Manage Airdrops — For token creators: manage your airdrop recipients and status
